8 Signs You Should Quit Your Job

All of us have a bad day at work now and then. But does it mean that you have to leave your job? How one knows when it is time to quit? Or perhaps you are just tired and you need a relaxing vacation and give your current job another chance. But if you hate yours that much, that just one thought about it drives you crazy, then you should absolutely start looking for other opportunities. https://jiji.ng/jobs has the hottest job offers added every day. If you are seriously thinking about quitting, here are eight strong signals you should mind.

1. Just thinking about your work makes you unhappy
Monday is one of the worst days. But you are miserable every morning and you dread going into work. Plus, if you get unhappy just thinking about work, that is another sign that it it time to move on.

2. You are going to work only because you get paid for it

Imagine, today you are told you that would get paid for sitting at home and doing nothing. Would you leave on the same day without two weeks notice and would not even say goodbye to your colleagues?

3. You do not have any career ambitions

There is nothing you find exciting about your daily work routine. You only wish to carry out the current duties and go home at 6 pm. It is time you consider if your current position is really a good fit for you.

4.Your work is not appreciated

Your ideas are shut down or not valued anymore. You do not get approvals or acknowledgment for great work. Or you are simply overqualified for your job, do not feel stuck.

5. You do not get any satisfaction from work
Even a successfully completed project does not make you feel happy. At work, you feel a sense of relief only on Friday evening or on the eve of vacation.

6. Your job is taking a toll on your health
Are you taking as much time off as you can possibly get? Are you working so many hours you have no time to exercise, eat healthy or get enough sleep? Are your family and friends affected by this, too?

7. The balance between work and personal life is severely impaired

You have missed another dinner with friends after work because of endless reports negotiations and meetings?

8. You are loaded with new duties but the salary remains the same
If your company is downsizing, no wonder the job load has doubled, but if the company is not doubling your compensation, it is another good reason to move on. If your job does not speak to you and you find yourself miserable, you should not feel stuck on a career path that you do not like.

How You Can Prolong the Life of Your Laptop’s Battery

This is a guest post compiled by Jo-Ann from LaptopNinja for Josphatinfo

What a laptop gives you that a desktop PC doesn’t is convenience. If the lights go out, your laptop remains running and you can enjoy a few more hours of uninterrupted work. But even most importantly, you have mobility, you can move about with ease and work on-the-road. So if your roomie happens to be hosting his club members just when you’re supposed to be polishing your final draft, no problem: you can just leave and find a quieter place to work.

But only if your battery’s healthy. Otherwise, your laptop is no better than a desktop PC.

Truth be told, your battery is not going to last forever. Most average batteries start with 3-4 hours of runtime, but in a year or two you can only get 1-2 hours. On average, your battery starts to lose its capacity for holding charge after 400 cycles (i.e. 400 recharges). In the end, you may be lucky if your battery can last an hour off-power.

Of course, how long your battery lasts depends. One, on how often you use your laptop, which determines how many recharges it takes within a period of time. And two, there are various tactics that, regardless of how often you use your laptop, can help to prolong the life of your laptop’s battery.
Below are some of the measures you can take to earn your battery a few more months. They can be grouped into short-term and long-term strategies.

Short-Term Strategies
1. Adjust Power Settings
You can easily adjust the settings of your laptop to reduce power consumption even when you still have to use the display and the keyboard. There are situations when certain settings are unnecessary.

      ==>> Keyboard Backlighting

The keyboard backlighting is one of those settings that people ignore or just assume do not consume much power. Well, while it may not eat much power in a given time, it leaves a mark on your battery over time. So unless you happen to be in the dark and you need your backlight to see each key, you can turn it off entirely.

      ==>> Screen
Another slow but equally notable power drainer is the screen. Sure, you need the screen. But really, it does not have to be in maximum brightness or resolution all the time. Certain functions, such as typing, can do with lower brightness and resolution. A display of 50 percent brightness can significantly save you a good amount of power and buy your battery a little more time. Equally, a basic resolution (1,366 x 768) or even lower significantly reduces the power that your laptop consumes in graphic processing without having a negative impact on your performance.

      ==>> Sound
Many sound settings are not always necessary. There are sounds you may switch off altogether. Otherwise, you may switch from your laptop’s larger speakers and choose to use earbuds instead. This way, your speakers do not get power, and that unused power is saved for you to use another day.

2. Turn Off Unnecessary Apps and Processes

Contrary to what you believe, it’s not only the hardware that eats up life from your battery. The software is as crucial, and many running apps and ongoing processes will also take up a significant amount of your battery’s juice. So just as you do with the hardware, turn off what you’re not using.
You need to find your Processes Tab and switch off what’s running on the background. Be careful not to close apps that you’re using. But those related to music and video players, or even cloud storage services, can just be disabled especially for laptops that are purely meant for professional work.

Long-Term Strategies
1. Unplug Your Battery

Leaving your battery plugged in all the time wastes its cycles. Unless you have an urgent task and there is the risk of a power outage, you can pop the battery out when the laptop is plugged in. Besides, as long as your battery is plugged into any AC outlet, the battery is in the meantime irrelevant. You can then put the battery back when you need to leave with your laptop. This can significantly buy your battery some considerable extra time.

2. Tune-Up
You can alternatively tune-up your laptop for more efficient power use. Maintenance tasks and upgrades can result in a faster system overall, and which in turn ensures your battery lasts longer. For example, regular defragment of your hard drive makes the retrieval of data more efficient, which then reduces the time required to access data.

In conclusion, all these measures can help make the most of your battery until that time you decide to replace your aging notebook with a laptop having a longer battery life. Other strategies include: disabling devices and ports not in use, activating Battery Saver and upgrading components.

4G LTE Network in Nigeria

When trying to describe smartphone data networks, 3G, 4G, and LTE are the normal words you might have heard. This refers to the generation of network technology.

The third generation network, known as the 3G name, is the oldest technology group. 4G is the fourth generation of the data network and LTE stands for Long Term Evolution. The basic difference between them is the network speed. When you want to buy a smartphone , it is possible that the previous models do not support the latest data network technology. It is important to choose a model that supports a data rate according to your needs.

Long Term Evolution (LTE), also known as 4G LTE, is a standard set for high-speed wireless communication for smartphones, tablets, netbooks, laptops, and wireless devices. 4G technology is the successor to 3G technology. Mobile operators continue to build their 4G LTE Network in Nigeria. Theoretically, 4G is faster than 3G. But before you compare the 4G with 3G speed, it is important to understand that there are different versions of 4G.

Speaking of 4G, things can be a little confusing. 4G and 4G LTE are the once present. Many people consider 4G LTE technology to be the true 4G. In general, when a mobile operator talk of 4g network without mentioning 4G LTE, it does speak of HSPA (High Speed Packet Access). HSPA is a faster version of the 3G GSM network. Although not as fast as LTE, it is still faster than a 3G network. Since 4G LTE is relatively new in Nigeria, mobile phone providers have not yet completely built their LTE networks. Be careful when you are looking at the coverage of the map network on provider websites. Some companies claim to have a wide coverage of  4G. They can actually be refering to the HSPA coverage and not LTE.

Theoretically, 4G LTE in Nigeria can be up to ten times faster than 3G.  In practice, the actual speed of the network load varies depending on the power of the network and signals in your area. Although LTE does not meet its nominal speed, it is still much faster than 3G. Activities that require large amounts of data, such as streaming movies, work very well in an LTE network. If you plan extensive data on hunger activities or just the best performance when you surf the internet, you should actually plan to buy a compatible smartphone with LTE.

In Nigeria, Some internet provider have already been providing 4G LTE Service, and some have just joined the league. Below are the 4G LTE Network in Nigeria and you can easily check the list for the one that is available in your area because non of them have cover every areas in Nigeria like the 3G Network.

Airtel Nigeria seems the only Nigerian telecommunications company that has not started providing 4G LTE in Nigeria. If you would love to have a taste of how fast the network is, you can check you device if it support LTE or probably get a new smartphone and also check if the network is available in your area.

Is there any other 4g Lte Network in Nigeria that is not mention in the post, kindly drop it in the comment box and we are going to add it to the post.

Android Phones: 5 Reasons Why They Are Very Popular

If you just walk into any mobile phone store or visit any ecommerce website that sells phones, you will discover that larger percentage of the phones they are sell runs on Android OS. Android is a smartphone operating system developed and owned by Google. Apart from those using Nokia and iPhone, lot of people prefer to go with Android OS. All versions of Android, Donut, Eclair, Froyo, Gingerbread, Honeycomb, Ice Cream Sanwich, Android 4.1 Jelly Bean, Android 4.4 Kitkat, Android 5.0 Lollipop, Android 6.0 Marshmallow and Android 7.0 Nougat have been very popular. And now people are expecting phones that are running on Android 7.0 Nougat.

Android Phones: 5 Reasons Why They Are Very Popular

Customization Options
What people like Android is that it offers many Customization options. As with other Google products such as Gmail or Web browser Chrome offers many ways to customize applications and extensions to its maximum, even Android OS is one of those platforms that can be customized by installing a variety of customized applications. Android offers many applications to customize your phone. Many applications are available free of charge. However, there are many applications that need to be purchased. However, the good news is that you can test all applications, and if you do not like any application it may be back in 15 minutes to ask for  money.

Compared with any iPhone, Android phones are cheaper and offer better features. Both the iPhone and Google have the same navigation step by step, ie Google Maps. Since the application is a product of Google and Android so it is very obvious that Android phones get a better support and services than iPhone or any other phone with different operating systems.

Removable and Non Removable Battery
Another advantage of having Android phones over the iPhone is that it has detachable battery. So, if you know what you need to replace the battery, you can simply go shopping and buy a new one.

Advance Hardware Features
Some Android OS phones are high-end phones that come with many advanced hardware features like HDMI. You can easily connect your phone to your TV with HDMI function.

Options Available
Since Android is available in various brands such as Samsung, LG, Motorola, Sony Ericsson, etc., you will get more options when it comes to buying a new phone. In addition, many phones have storage capacity greater because Android users install a variety of applications, are required to download stuff on the net and store movies and music files on the software.

Another interesting thing about the Android OS is that the web browser is compatible with Flash. This means that you can view the contents of Flash without problems in the browser. You will not experience any choppiness or slowness during surfing. In addition, you can view videos in the browser and do not need to download any additional application to watch the videos separately on the page.

Game of Thrones’ new trailer has each rival sitting upon their throne

HBO has released the first trailer for the seventh season of Game of Thrones and it’s all about war in Westeros.

The trailer follows each of the rivals gunning for the Iron Throne. Cersei Lannister is in the Red Keep, while Jon Snow takes his rightful position in the Great Hall of Winterfell. Daenerys Targaryen is in an unknown setting, but one that’s sure to get more light when the season finally premieres.

The trailer marks the first time we’re getting new footage, following HBO’s premiere reveal earlier this month. During an event that asked fans to patiently wait while a block of ice containing the date melted, HBO released a smaller teaser trailer, but none of the actors appeared on screen. While this is new footage, it’s important to note that it’s probably not from the actual season.

This is the first teaser trailer for the actual trailer that will debut in the coming months.

The latest Uber update gives you even more ride hailing power

It's ridiculous, really, that there's anything to complain about ride-hailing apps that give us the power to summon our own personal chariots directly to our front doors—but hey, the system ain't perfect.
And one glaring imperfection? Wonky pickup locations. Sometimes digital lines are crossed, and you wind up sending your driver somewhere other than where you actually are, causing them to cancel the ride, ding your rating, and make you wait even longer.

A new update to Uber's app will let you switch up your pickup location even after your ride is already on the way, finally giving you a way to fix those jacked-up ride requests. The feature will begin rolling out today to iOS users in the US, Canada and the UK, with plans to expand service to all users in the coming weeks. Using the new feature isn't much different than requesting a ride in the first place.

Once the driver is headed your way, just tap "Edit" next to your pickup location address.
